AI skills as a bottleneck: Amadeus Fire and Leaders of AI launch partnership
Strategic partnership aims to systematically train managers in the use of AI – joint programmes, webinars and events are planned.
Frankfurt/Main, 18ᵗʰ March 2026
Whilst companies in Germany are increasingly investing in Artificial Intelligence (AI), the development of relevant skills in many organisations is lagging behind their technological ambitions. Against this backdrop, the Amadeus Fire Group (Prime Standard, ISIN: DE0005093108) and the training provider Leaders of AI have agreed on a strategic partnership. The aim of the partnership is to develop the training of executives in the field of AI more systematically and to link further training more closely with talent recruitment.
The partnership addresses a growing gap between the use of technology and skills development. According to a recent study by the Amadeus Fire Group commissioned by the Initiative ‘Allianz der Chancen’, whilst 91 percent of companies view AI as central to their business model, only around a quarter are planning significant investments in the further training of their own workforce in the short term. Only around 20 percent of employees have so far received AI training within their company.
“The economic impact of Artificial Intelligence depends largely on whether companies empower their managers to strategically integrate new technologies and use them productively,” explains Robert von Wülfing, CEO of the Amadeus Fire Group. “With Leaders of AI, we combine specialised AI training with our expertise in talent development and recruitment services. This provides direct access to skills that are increasingly becoming a competitive advantage for many companies.”
Linking training and the talent market
The partnership comprises several key elements. AI leadership programmes from Leaders of AI are to be integrated into the Amadeus Fire Group’s professional development portfolio. At the same time, graduates of these programmes will gain structured access to career and recruitment opportunities within the recruitment services network.
Furthermore, both partners are planning joint marketing activities in the B2B sector. These include webinars and events for businesses. The first events are scheduled already to take place. Invitations to the launch events will be published shortly.
“For many companies, the main bottleneck in adopting AI is no longer the technology itself, but rather the organisational and strategic capabilities required to use it effectively,” says Dominic von Proeck, CEO of Leaders of AI. “The partnership with Amadeus Fire combines high-quality AI training with established access to the job market for specialists and managers.”
Skills development as an economic policy challenge
The development of AI skills is increasingly seen as a key factor in competitiveness across all sectors of the German economy. Research shows that whilst the use of AI technologies is growing, many companies are still in the early stages of broader operational implementation. Without systematic skills development strategies, there is a risk that investments in technology will fail to realise their full economic potential.
“We see a structural imbalance between technology investment and skills development in many companies,” emphasises Monika Wiederhold, Board Member of the Amadeus Fire Group and responsible for Corporate AI Learning at the Alliance of Opportunities. “If training is not organised systematically, productivity gains remain limited. Collaborations such as this can help to build the necessary training framework more quickly.”
Through this partnership, Amadeus Fire and Leaders of AI aim to support the development of a robust ecosystem for AI skills in Germany and to guide companies through the transition from initial pilot projects to the widespread application of AI technologies.
