AI Buddy helps with quick training and protects companies from knowledge loss
Amadeus Fire Group launches AI solution for systematic on- and offboarding
Frankfurt/Main, 3rd March 2026
Germany is experiencing profound changes in the labour market with noticeable consequences for companies. Valuable operational knowledge is at risk of being lost as experienced specialists leave the workforce. At the same time, unstructured induction processes tie up resources, delay the productivity of new employees and place an additional burden on existing teams.
Against this backdrop, the Amadeus Fire Group (ISIN: DE0005093108, Prime Standard) is expanding its portfolio in the area of Training and HR Services with an AI-supported solution for systematic onboarding and offboarding, thereby addressing the challenge posed by the departure of many ‘baby boomers’. The ‘Onboarding and Offboarding Buddy’ was developed by eduBITES, a company belonging to the Amadeus Fire Group. The pilot project was launched in summer 2025 in collaboration with GFN GmbH, a company specialising in Training that also belongs to the Group.

The ‘Buddy’: AI agent, knowledge repository and learning companion
At the heart of the new offering is an AI-powered agent – the ‘Buddy’. It acts as a digital contact person, similar to a chatbot, who is available at any time to answer questions. Those who wish to do so can also interact with the AI agent in the form of an avatar. This creates a low-threshold, personalised learning and support nvironment that complements traditional documentation. The dialogue-based solution trains with the content of the respective company and uses various learning formats such as AI-generated videos, audio files and specialist articles to impart knowledge. The content is modular in structure and can be accessed at any time.
From internal expertise to scalable learning solutions
A key feature of the new solution is its consistent focus on existing company knowledge. Existing training materials, process documentation and internal guidelines are integrated and prepared for teaching purposes. In addition, empirical knowledge is systematically recorded using AI-supported interviews.
This results in a differentiated training programme that is precisely tailored to the industry, organisation and specific role profiles. Informal processes, proven solutions and company-specific features are documented in a structured manner and made accessible to others.
Closed knowledge cycle
In addition to the ‘onboarding buddy,’ eduBITES offers another new module that specifically helps companies secure knowledge before employees leave. At the heart of the process are structured interviews conducted with them by an AI agent. The more than 50 cases documented by GFN involving departing employees show a high willingness to pass on knowledge – especially because employees can decide for themselves when, where, how often and how long they talk to their ‘offboarding buddy’.
‘Knowledge is one of the key value drivers in modern organisations. With our onboarding and offboarding buddy, we have created a solution that not only preserves knowledge but also actively makes it usable,’ explains Prof Dr Marc Drüner, CEO of eduBITES. ‘We combine AI technology with didactic expertise and many years of HR experience. The result is a closed knowledge cycle in which know-how is secured when employees leave and made immediately usable when new team members join.’
The new onboarding and offboarding solutions distributed via eduBITES are now available tocompanies.
